Sometime this month the brand spankin’ new Chevy Camaro will hit the streets. As you can see in the pictures, this is a truly retro design. Just like the Ford Mustang and Dodge Charger and Challenger, it draws inspiration from the golden age of american muscle. I can see the ’68 influence all over this awesome machine. I have been drooling over this car since It “debuted” in the Transformers movie. Man! this thing is just wicked. Maybe if American automakers had focused on making cars that excited people (like this one clearly should) and less time trying to emulate the European and Asian looks, they would not be in the poor shape they are now. I realize that doesn’t really hold water. It has been questionable spending and shoddy workmanship on top of “less than inspired” design.
Do not get me wrong. I have nothing against the imports. They are well made, affordable and generally sleek looking. But they are not too exciting for the most part. This camaro is sexy! It has classic lines, bold styling and an aggressive stance. It just begs to be driven hard. This is not a commuter car. This is a cruiser. This is a car that you name. You hand wash this car with rock ’n’ roll blaring from the speakers before a big Saturday night. Put on that letter-jacket and pick up your best girl. Turn up the AC/DC, Zeppelin or Whitesnake. It is time to hit Sonic and show off your sweetheart. Make sure to pay some attention to your date while you are at it.
